Boarding

Described by our students as a ‘home away from home’, our boarding village has a caring family feel, enabling everyone to be an individual.
Catering to students aged 5 to 19 years who originate from multiple countries and backgrounds, we limit the number of students in Junior boarding to 16, the Senior boys’ boarding to 48, and the Senior girls’ boarding to 36. However, our recent addition of a Sixth Form girls’ boarding house has increased our capacity.
All our boarding homes have the family feel we value so much. Boarders receive home-cooked meals and have access to a variety of activities.
Boarding Accomodation
Our rooms cater for up to 4 students, and we try to organise students into rooms with others of a similar age. We want everyone to enjoy their own personal space so rooms are kept private. Each bed is protected with a mosquito net and cupboards and individual lockers are in each room. Each senior boarding homeroom boasts ensuite bathrooms with two sinks, a shower, and a toilet.

Life in a Braeburn Arusha Boarding Home
Situated in a four-acre garden with spectacular views of Mount Meru and the Monduli Hills, all four boarding homes are just a five minute walk away from school, making it easy for the students to join together for different activities on a regular basis.
Each of the homes boast spacious and comfortable lounges equipped with DSTV, as well as a range of books and games for the students to enjoy, including:
- Board games
- Table tennis
- Outdoor games
- Pool
- Foosball
- Darts
- Gym equipment.
In addition, there are on-site internet facilities and laptops in our prep rooms. Boarders can also access the school’s hard court and swimming pool.
Weekend Trips/Activities
A new activity schedule is shared every half term with parents and students. Activities include sports, day trips around Arusha, social evenings and BBQs, art and craft, music, and so much more. Activities are adapted and adjusted to the interests of the boarding students.

Pastoral Care
Ms Ruth Ngave, a dedicated member of our teaching staff, resides alongside the Senior Girls’ Boarding House. She provides consistent support for all students and serves as an important link between the boarding homes and the school. Ms Ngave helps address any concerns that may arise or be observed, whether in school or in the houses, and also offers guidance with home learning to ensure every student feels supported.
