Dragons Explore the Wild: Year 7 & 8 Expedition to Napuru Falls

Our Year 7 and 8 students recently went on an unforgettable overnight Dragon Expedition, stepping out of the classroom and into the breathtaking landscapes of Tanzania! The adventure took our young explorers to the lush grounds of the Meru Forest Ecotourism site at Napuru Waterfalls in Arusha.

The expedition was a fantastic opportunity for students to develop essential outdoor survival and teamwork skills. Upon arrival, the first major challenge was establishing our camp. Under the guidance of our instructors, the students worked together to assemble their own tents. It required patience, communication, and plenty of hands-on effort to get the poles and canvases properly structured.

With camp successfully set up, it was time to explore the beautiful Tanzanian scenery. Armed with walking sticks and plenty of enthusiasm, the students navigated the green, forested terrain. The hike allowed the students to connect with nature, challenge themselves physically, and support one another along the way. The panoramic views of the forested hills provided the perfect backdrop for some memorable group photos.

All that hard work and hiking certainly built up some appetites! The group enjoyed hearty, well-deserved meals outdoors and around the campfire, sitting together in the crisp forest air to refuel.

This expedition was a resounding success, fostering independence, resilience, and lasting friendships among our Year 7 and 8 Dragons. We are incredibly proud of how they embraced every challenge with a positive attitude.
