BISA is committed to the school community, the local community and the global community. We are truly international in our outlook, which means that we have an understanding and deep respect for those we come into contact with, however near or far.
Transition between sections of the school are smooth, due to the genuine ‘family feel’ of BISA. Literacy support sessions, our Music Keys program and boarding family groups are just a few examples of how our students positively impact on each other across the age ranges.
Links between home and school are strong. Our digital newsletter and blog keep you abreast of what is happening across the school, whilst parent/teacher consultations and written reports focus on the progress that your child is making and are a regular feature of the calendar. Family and friends are invited to join events throughout the term, yet if specific issues need to be addressed, appointments can easily be made to see staff members.
Our parent voice, like our student voice, is incredibly valuable to us and our supportive Parent Representative Group is a great vehicle to be involved in. Happy to help settle new arrivals, they provide a reassuring link for prospective parents and transitioning families.
BISA staff and students are now in their sixth year of celebrating the successes of BISA Saturday School, an initiative to support children in the local community through reading, mathematics, physical education and team building.
Taking social responsibility to the next level, BISA supports a number of environmental and community projects, locally and globally; actively recycling through our collaboration with Chanzi-Okota, raising funds for healthcare programs like Walk in Love and Maternity Africa and off-setting transport carbon emissions through Carbon Tanzania.
