Overview

To educate the whole child, you need to provide a broad experience, both inside and outside of the classroom. From the Early Years to the sixth form, BISA provides academic, physical, community and artistic opportunities to students across the school. Throughout the school year, students from all sections of the school are involved in competitions, performances, events and programs that build success and confidence.

Highly commended for our ‘warm, family feel’, the BISA community works in collaboration within the school and the wider world. All ages, supported by in-school and outside expertise, are involved in a wealth of projects, producing confident, responsible and successful students and great results. Our beautiful boarding village provides a 'home away from home' for our students where they are supported and encouraged by our dedicated boarding team.

Personalised home/school communication is reinforced through meetings and workshops. Our Parent Representatives, Student Council and prefect body support and advise, whilst the Braeburn group extend invitations and share expertise for staff and students. Our weekly newsletter, The BISA Blog, keeps the school community up-to-date on all that has been happening in and around BISA. You can read previous newsletters by clicking this link.

Well-resourced teaching areas on both BISA sites are shared amongst the whole school. Purpose-built and stimulating, they provide opportunities to take our learning to the next level. Regular opportunities to travel further afield to experience other localities are built into the calendar, embedding school experiences firmly in the real world.
