The BISA Computing curriculum furnishes students with a comprehensive toolkit to become innovative problem solvers as computing is intrinsically linked with mathematics, science, design, and technology, and provides profound insights into natural and artificial systems.
The heart of computing is computer science, in which students acquire knowledge of the principles of information and computation, digital systems, and programming in Python and several related applications.
These proficiencies enable students to skillfully tackle both familiar and unfamiliar situations through computational and algorithmic thinking strategies, rendering them competent decision-makers and effective problem solvers. In tandem, the BISA spiral curriculum empowers students to create programs, systems, and diverse content using information technology.
The Computing curriculum also guarantees that students are digitally literate, proficiently using information and communication technology at a level fitting for the future workforce and as active participants in a digital world.
The curriculum endeavors to establish an atmosphere conducive to a yearning for learning new skills, fostering creativity, cultivating independence, and promoting reflection.
The KS3 curriculum is anchored in vital inquiry-based questions, poised to prepare students for IGCSE and A-level courses at higher grade levels.
At A-level, the students are exposed to advanced programming algorithms and concepts such as Object-Oriented Programming, sorting and searching algorithms, dictionaries, file handling, recursive programs, and many more. The aspiration is to inspire and excite all students within an arduous academic milieu.
