On Friday night the BISA amphitheatre was transformed into an enchanted forest for Shakespeare’s beloved comedy, A Midsummer Night's Dream. We watched in delight as the merry sprite Puck meddled with a magical love potion and young lovers lost in the woods mysteriously found themselves infatuated with the wrong person.
Performed by a cast of 12 and 13 year olds, the hilarious fantasy proved that the course of true love never did run smooth. The set design, music and costumes were stunning and added a magical quality to an already fantastic production.
Our students interpreted the play admirably, using clever physical theatre and communicating the challenging Shakespearean language with just the right tone and humour. Taking on one of Shakespeare's most famous comedies was a massive task for our youngest Secondary students and they did so with ease.
Well done to our entire cast and crew on a wonderful production!
