A peek into our amazing Computer Science learning

26th September 2022

The massive shifts in technology and globalisation that are expected to transform the workplace have already begun. In many industries and countries, some of the most in-demand jobs didn’t even exist five or 10 years ago — and the pace of change will only accelerate.

“As the rate of technological innovation intensifies, the workforce of the future will need to adapt to new technology and new markets. The people who can adapt the best (and fastest) will win.” - Calton Pu, professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Here at BISA, incorporating technology into our learning is essential and our Computer Science students are demonstrating more and more how to adapt, change and problem-solve using technology.

This featured lesson was about practical problem-solving using the Python Programming Application. The students designed an automated voting system to record and count votes for candidates in school council elections. The voting system will allow one representative to be elected from each tutor group (Year 7 to Year 10). The program will then display the name of each candidate, calculate and display the number of votes and the respective percentages, and reveal the winner!
