A Weekend Across The Border

5th October 2017

Some of our Secondary students ventured across the border to Kenya last weekend for two very different reasons! Here are reports from Mr Wheatley and Mr Masudi!

Braeburn Sports Festival

"We enjoyed another very successful Braeburn Sports Festival in Nairobi. Our students represented us very well showing real sportsmanship and competitiveness in all the activities. For the third time in a row, a student from BISA has won the most coveted award that upholds the spirt of the event. This award is given to the student that shows good sportsmanship, leadership, is communicative, competitive and shows discipline. Previous winners of this award from BISA have been Daniel Chege (2015) and Jordan Nyari (2016). This year, our BISA winner was Melchim Roothaert with unanimous votes from all the Heads of Sports at the event. Congratulations, Melchim!" - Mr Masudi

East African Model United Nations Workshop

'Paul, Najma and Tamia enjoyed the opportunity to participate in an Ambassadors Workshop offered by the East African Model United Nations (EAMUN) in Nairobi, Kenya this past weekend. The students enjoyed proposing and debating resolutions relating to various global issues but the main purpose of their visit was to receive training for their role as ambassadors at February 2018's conference. As ambassadors they will be expected to lead their own delegation. We shall look forward to them having the opportunity to put their training into practice.' - Mr Wheatley
