16 of our outstanding athletes, eight girls and eight boys, recently travelled from Arusha to Nairobi to take part in the much-anticipated Braeburn Sports Festival, held at Braeburn Garden Estate (BGE). This annual two-day event is one of the highlights of the Braeburn Group calendar, bringing together top student-athletes from Braeburn schools across the group to compete in a variety of sports and activities.

All athletes were placed into mixed teams alongside peers from other Braeburn campuses, forming the competitive squads of Serengeti, Amboseli, Tsavo, and Maasai Mara. The festival offered a fantastic opportunity not only to showcase athletic talent but also to build friendships, teamwork, and embody the spirit of sportsmanship.

The festival kicked off with athletics in the morning, where students competed in various track and field events. In the afternoon, the focus shifted to touch rugby, a fast-paced and energetic sport that had the fields buzzing with excitement and team spirit.

The second day began with netball, where players displayed agility, precision, and excellent team effort. The festival concluded with an exciting Hyrox challenge, a demanding fitness competition combining running with functional workouts. Each student gave their all, pushing themselves to the limit to earn points for their teams.

The level of competition was incredibly high, but our BISA athletes rose to the occasion and made us all proud.

A huge congratulations to Levis Filikunjombe, who was awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the entire tournament. This is an exceptional achievement and a testament to his hard work, leadership, and talent.

Team Serengeti, which included Sarah Ziswa, Makire Mhinte, Thomas Rashid, and Daoda Saint Fleur, put in a stellar performance to finish in second place overall.

Team Amboseli, made up of Amos Silanga, Ashley Mkwizu, Nengai Laltaika, and Eden Mwashiozya, clinched first place, showing great consistency and teamwork across all events.

After two intense days of competition, the students enjoyed a well-earned break with a relaxed afternoon, followed by a trip to the shopping mall for dinner and a movie, a perfect way to wind down and celebrate their achievements.

Special thanks to Mr. Masudi and Ms. Wiz for accompanying the students, offering support, encouragement, and ensuring everything ran smoothly throughout the event.

Well done to all our athletes for representing BISA with excellence, sportsmanship, and heart. We couldn’t be prouder of you.

Until next year!
