The Year 10 geographers set off to explore the foothills of Mount Meru by visiting Themi Waterfalls. The aim of the trip was to investigate how a river changes as it flows downstream. This included measuring the width, depth, velocity, gradient and bedload size, and roundness. The students did amazingly well as the river was a little higher due to the recent rainfall.
This fieldwork is a compulsory part of their Geography IGCSE and we will be analysing and presenting the data to make a conclusion about the changes that take place on a river. Lots of wet socks, water-filled wellington boots, and happy faces.
