BISA hosts Modern Foreign Language teachers from Tanzania and Kenya

25th April 2018

BISA Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) department hosted training for MFL teachers from across the wider Braeburn Group. Here is a report from Madam Mella and Madam Tiana:

"The first edition of Modern Foreign Languages Inset for Braeburn teachers took place in Arusha on 23rd and 24th April. French teachers from Braeside, Garden Estate, Imani, Gitanga Road, Mombasa, Nanyuki and Arusha came together for a 10 hours inset training. The objective was to share practise and build future common language projects across our different schools. We invited the head of Alliance Française of Arusha to present our partnership and how we prepare the Delf exams in our school.

We shared our experiences on cross curricular projects with class teachers, the pen pal project with a French class in Year 6 and the content of our sessions for the 2018 French week competition. We offered the opportunity to observe a French event in Year 3 and differentiation in Key stage 2 towards the preparation of Delf exams.

It was a very successful work session with rich and diverse discussions, a first step towards  a promising future collaboration."
