BISA Students impress at East Africa Model United Nations in Nairobi

2nd March 2019

Our students performed admirably at the 37th East African Model United Nations Conference hosted at the UNON building in Nairobi last week. Our delegates represented Belarus, Eritrea and Pakistan across four committees; Economic, Political, Human Rights and Special Summit.

We had two resolutions pass to the conference; Sukirt Kaur’s resolution on the ‘resolving the current Anglophone crisis in western Cameroon’ and Nicole Kombe’s resolution on ‘educating displaced people around Lake Chad on using and managing solar energy’. Both delegates performed admirably and should be extremely proud of their performance. Likewise, Safari Mosha, Marvin Onwukwe and Sasha Pandit’s conduct in the Special Summit committee was exemplary; the former two being rewarded with the ‘best speaker award’ - a first for Braeburn Arusha. Every student, however, should be extremely proud by their conduct throughout the week. We’ll look forward to next year’s conference. - Mr Wheatley
