Last weekend, the Mid and Long-Distance Swim meet took place at St Constantines. 15 members of our swim squad participated in races ranging from 200 to 800 meters. The event began with the 200IMs, consisting of 50 meters of each stroke. Baylor secured 3rd place in the 13-14 age group, while Annabelle claimed 2nd place in the 10 and under category.
The 200m freestyle race was particularly popular, and our youngest team members, Raphael and Kiyara, demonstrated great determination as they tackled the challenging 8 lengths, achieving commendable results.
In the girls' 10 and under category, Lucia narrowly missed 3rd place by tenths of a second, while Annabelle secured 1st place.
Harper achieved a remarkable improvement of 32.89 seconds from her personal best (PB) and secured 4th place in the 11-12 age group. The 13-14-year-old girls, including Baylor, Lily, and Lara, contributed points for the team.
In the boys 10 and under category, Raphael and Cohen set new PBs, while Tom and Tobiko also achieved new personal bests and secured 4th place in their respective age groups.
In the 200m breaststroke, Lucia, Ellie, Kiyara, Lara R, and Cohen all achieved PBs, and Tom secured 3rd place in the boys 11-12 category.
Brianna achieved 3rd place with a new PB in the 200m backstroke, while Harper, Baylor, and Cohen secured 2nd place in their age groups. Tobiko also put up a strong fight and secured 4th place in his race.
Annabelle dominated the pool on Saturday, winning the 400m Free, which equates to 16 lengths. She also secured 1st place in her age group. On Sunday, the 800m race took place, with separate categories for over 18s and under 18s. Baylor claimed 3rd place, while Annabelle finished 5th. The BISA swim squad performed admirably, securing 3rd place in both the male and female categories. Next up is Taliss in February, featuring challenging qualifying times. Following that, the Isamilo Invitational will be open to all, with 50m and 100m races.
