BISA's Triumph at the Isamilo Invitational Gala 2024

Isamilo Invitational Gala 2024

14 swim teams came together at the Isamilo Invitational swim gala in Mwanza last weekend. Our 17 BISA swimmers were ready for the competition and all aiming to achieve personal bests. Mr Mosi’s training sessions had our swimmers practicing starts and turns and coaching them to increase their times.

All this hard work paid off with our 17 swimmers achieving 65 personal bests!  That means that they swam their races faster than they ever had before.

We also came away with a number of medals.

Congratulations to

• Ianna Kilavuka -Bronze in 50m Backstroke
• Tom Rashid - Bronze in 50m Breaststroke
• Harper Harrison- Bronze in 50m Fly
• Lara Rashid - Bronze medals in 100m and 50m Backstroke
• Baylor Harrison – Gold medals in 100m Free, 100m backstroke, 50m Breaststroke, Silver medals in 100m IM, 50m Fly and 50m Free achieving the runner up position for her girls 13-14 age group.
• Bronze medals in the over 13 mixed medley relay for Elsie Weston, Tom Rashid, Baylor Harrison and Sholinke Muniu!

We are so proud of their achievements but also in the way that the group came together as a team from swimmers in year 4 through to year 12. They all supported each other and encouraged each other when the races were challenging.  It was also amazing to see how the swimmers made friends with other teams and supported them too- such great sportsmanship.
