Step into the wonderful world of boarding at BISA, where home away from home takes on a new meaning! At BISA, we believe that boarding is more than just a place to stay. It's an essential part of the educational journey, fostering a strong sense of community and personal growth. Our boarding experience is filled with exciting activities that create lasting bonds among our students. From fun excursions to 'cinema Saturdays', Sunday league fun, and the rhythm of Afro-dance, life at BISA boarding is an adventure like no other.
Boarders eagerly await our periodic boarding outings, an important of the boarding experience. Once per half term, students choose exciting destinations for their outings, whether fishing, hiking around Lake Duluti, playing arcade games, swimming, or dining at a local favourite. These outings are a highlight of the boarding calendar, not simply for the fun they provide, but also for the opportunity for students to socialise, share their thoughts and feelings with our caring staff, and deepen their connections and bonds with each other.
At BISA boarding, we embrace diversity and respect all religions. Our inclusive environment welcomes students of any faith, and we go the extra mile to accommodate their religious practices. On Sundays, we provide transportation to churches, and on Fridays, we ensure access to mosques for prayers. Special religious holidays, such as Eid or Ash Wednesday, receive our full support as we arrange transportation to mosques and churches, allowing students to observe these important occasions.
Our five unique boarding houses nurture a sense of belonging and foster lifelong bonds.
The Boys' House
Our main house, the Boys' House, is where friendship reigns supreme! We gather for delicious meals, have fun with PlayStation battles and pool table competitions, and enjoy Sunday evening Afro dance lessons.
Miss Fina's House
Miss Fina's House isa haven for our youngest girls. Miss Fina ensures the comfort and well-being of our youngest boarders, creating a space where friendships grow and support is second nature.
Miss Ertheline's House
Miss Ertheline's House offers older Key Stage 4 girls more than just comfort. Its sizeable balcony overlooks a scenic slope, encouraging contemplation, growth, and a broader perspective on life.
Miss Lillian's House
In Miss Lillian's House, Key Stage 5 girls find safety and togetherness. Miss Lillian ensures our voices are heard and our well-being is prioritised. We bond over movie nights, share laughter, and cook up delightful meals together.
The Guest House
Our newest addition, the Guest House, is where the oldest Key Stage 5 girls prepare for their journey beyond BISA. Positioned a bit farther from the other houses, it fosters independence and self-reliance, preparing for the university experience that lies ahead.
Boarding life at BISA is more than just academics; its about learning the values of community, kindness and independence that will serve as well at University and beyond.
