2nd October 2024
On the 26th September, we packed our bags, donned our team colours, and set off for the Annual Braeburn Sports Festival—an epic showdown where the best of the best from all Braeburn schools come together to compete in an exhilarating array of sports.
This year, we had ten of our finest athletes selected to represent us, and they were ready to give it their all in a thrilling two-day event.
Day 1: Athletics Extravaganza!
The first day kicked off with a bang! Our athletes sprinted, jumped, and threw their way through an impressive lineup of events, including the 100m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, and the nail-biting 4x100m relay. They also took on long jump, shot put, and javelin, showcasing not just their skills, but also the power of teamwork. The energy was electric!
But that wasn’t all—next up was swimming and rowing, where our determined athletes swam and rowed the equivalent of half a marathon! The cheers from the crowd echoed across the water, and you could see the grit on their faces. Talk about determination!
Day 2: Netball and CrossFit Challenges!
The fun continued on day two with netball and CrossFit. Our students displayed incredible resilience as they pushed through the challenging workouts. It was a testament to what happens when you work together as a team—you get results!
After two action-packed days, we couldn’t be prouder of all our athletes. A big shoutout to the winning team, Serengeti, featuring the unstoppable duo of Sarah Ziswa and Emmanuel Mutuku, who clinched the top spot! Not far behind were the silver medalists, Maasai Mara, with Pedro Odhiambo and Emily Fraser bringing home the glory.
And let’s not forget the amazing coaches, Mrs. Wizilya Dacar-Lembeli and Mr. Dickson Masudi, who cheered on our athletes every step of the way.
Here’s to even bigger and better adventures at next year’s Braeburn Sports Festival! Let the countdown begin! 🎉🏆✨
