Braeburn's Taekwondo Stars

21st October 2022

Taekwondo is one of the most systematic and scientific Korean traditional martial arts, that teaches more than physical fighting skills. It is a discipline that shows ways of enhancing your life through training our body and mind. Three of our amazing students recently demonstrated their skills in competition!

During the mid-term break, three of our students took part in the Nyerere Day Cup 2022- Junior Taekwondo Championship held in Arusha at the headquarters of the Tanzania Taekwondo Federation.

Annabelle Weston (Year 5), Elsie Weston (Year 7) and Cai Lems (Year 10) represented Braeburn in competing against large clubs from Moshi and Arusha completing Poomsae which is a defined pattern of defense and attack motions.

All three passed their rounds and in the final Annabelle achieved the Silver medal and Cai the Bronze. Well done girls - all the practice and training pays off!

Thanks to Master David who has been training the girls.

Taekwondo is offered through our Flexible Learning Programme.
