BTEC Music Students Collaborate with Amazing Results

4th November 2017

Our BTEC Music students had a busy and creative week collaborating with some talented Zimbabwean musicians. Long-term friends of BISA, the musicians spent time with our young musicians conducting workshops in preparation for their performance at Bonfire Night.

Our students learned new performance techniques and just how much work goes into making a performance look professional. A week of intense rehearsals resulted in an incredible performance on Friday night. Here's what the students had to say about the experience:

"This weeks' workshop was really tough but really educational. The guys from Zimbabwe that came to help us out were also very professional and extremely talented. I felt very privileged to work with such amazing artists and I think that they really helped us give the best performance we could. The workshop was really good but we were very tired at the end of it because we worked hard all day to produce good music. We were all very supportive to each other, and we ended up learning many different skills and experiencing new and more professional ways of playing music in only one week! I feel like this was a very positive experience for all of us and that we can apply what we've learnt in our next performances. Our performance at Bonfire Night was really fun. I really enjoyed and I hope that the audience did too."  - Elsa

Well done to you all!
