Building up skills for life with First Aid training

23rd November 2022

Another fantastic feature of our Health, Fitness, and Wellbeing afternoon last week was our First Aid training. Eight students were successfully trained on:

  • care of an unconscious/unresponsive person,
  • choking,
  • nose bleeds,
  • practical Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and
  • basic life support including ambulance/paramedic services.

First aid is an important tool in quickly responding to accidents to ensure that injuries can be efficiently and promptly dealt with before a trained medical professional arrives to administer more specialised treatment. First aid in schools is especially helpful as children often get into accidents that can need swift care in order to prevent things from escalating.

It's safe to say, our students who took part in the training have gained a skill for life!
