9th October 2020
On the third of October, a group of students and staff went on a charity walk from Braeburn school to Sable Square on a Saturday morning.
The charity walk was organised by the Roots and Shoots club in school. The aim of the charity walk was to raise money for rangers who have seen a reduction in funding for wildlife monitoring due to the global pandemic (Covid 19).
The walk was successful and very good as it highlighted how a small act on kindness can have a huge impact on someone else’s life.
The Roots and Shoots team was really pleased by the support that the school has given through the process. Braeburn International School not only offers great education, it is also nurturing us to become active participants in the community we live in.
It’s really amazing to go to a school that offers such opportunities like these and I’m glad we got to do this charity walk as it does for sure feel very good to know that I have given back to the community.
We are grateful that the charity walk was successful. We managed to raise 1 Million Tsh and we are ready to donate it to the Safari rangers at HoneyGuide. Thanks to the BISA community for their support.
I hope that we get a chance as a group to do more projects that support the community like how this charity walk did.
