Everything Evaporation

Year 1/2 T have been focusing on evaporation as their science topic this week.
What is evaporation of water for Year 1/2 T?
“It is when water becomes gas!”
“It is when a liquid becomes smoke!”
“It is when water goes up!”
“It is when liquid becomes gas”
The children were given the opportunity to experiment by using water to paint pictures outside and observed how fast water evaporated. They then compared their results with each other and were able to see that the pictures they painted in a shaded area took longer to ‘disappear’ than ones exposed to the sun.
