Exploring the Americas

14th May 2020

To kick-start their exploration of the Americas, Y3 were set the challenge investigating totem poles recently. A totem is a spirit being, sacred object, or symbol that serves as an emblem of a group of people, such as a family, clan or tribe and continues to be used by groups in the Americas. Having watched a video showing historical artefacts and contemporary craftsmen at work, they raided their houses for junk modelling materials and made their own. Mrs. Baker was so impressed. So impressed in fact, she has set another challenge! Never a dull moment in Year 3.

Check out these great designs from Louisa Sisia and Lucas Joly!
