“We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand fibers connect us with our fellow men."
- Herman Melville
On Saturday 26th November, our school community was beyond privileged to come together and host a Christmas party for the kids in our community in Kisongo. This annual event is one of the ways in which we, as a school, can give back to our local community.
The event is designed for children from aged 3 to 18 with something for everyone. Led by our Secondary Prefects and supported by the teachers, with donations from our wider community, it truly bring the entire BISA Family together.
A wide range of fun and engaging activities allowed our BISA Family to engage with the children and young people on a mutual level of joy and appreciation. The activities included: swimming, arts and crafts, playing football and basketball, and watching a film.
"Seeing the kids smile and laugh was an accomplishment on its own," said one of our students.
We had planned for around 300 kids and however over 400 children arrived and, happily, we were able to cater to them all. Every child who attended also received a gift and a delicious home-cooked meal.
“The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members." - Coretta Scott King
We look forward to hosting many more future events that will be beneficial to our community.
