Hospitality Class Visit Gram Melia - The New Hotel in Arusha!

8th November 2019

The visit to the 5 star Gran Melia Hotel showed us how excellence in all aspects is the norm at this new Arushan hotel. The hotel was attractively furnished and pristine. The staff were courteous, polite, cheerful and extremely helpful. They had good knowledge of the hotel and how it works. They are very much in favour of using local goods such as recycled glass,  beadwork for decor and usage of bamboo straws in their drinks, gearing up to a minimum use of plastic.

The gardens are wonderfully landscaped and parts of the sprawling garden are used to grow fresh vegetables and herbs to use in the kitchen.

The students were impressed by the control room which was well equipped to keep the hotel grounds and corridors secure and safe

We experienced customer service first hand starting with a welcome drink to being taken around by the guest experience manager.

Our meeting was held in their well equipped conference room . To our delight, our trip ended with light refreshments from their food department.
