Infant Forest School

6th February 2021

Wearing their sturdy shoes and sun hats, the Infant Team headed off into the wilderness this week – the wilderness that will soon be home to BISA’s Forest School. Celebrating the natural world right on our doorstep, the first part of the task was for the teachers to explore and find out what opportunities were right under their noses.

The philosophy of Forest School is built around the wealth of learning and connection that can be gained from spending time in nature. Experiencing the planet through all of their senses, children build a different perspective and learn to take risks, explore and make connections. By July 2021 we plan for part of the Kisongo campus to be designated as our very own Forest School and all of our EYFS staff to have completed their Level 1 Forest School training. Exciting times ahead!
