Junior Dragon - Tips and Hints

14th September 2022

Some advice from Ms Juma

"When you prove to yourself that you are ready for anything, nothing can hold you back." – Anonymous.

Junior Dragon is a tailor-made program for our primary students that is linked to our curriculum and extra-curriculum provisions. It consists of four elements; Physical, Skills, Expedition, and Community Service. The program teaches life skills such as; teamwork, resilience, integrity, confidence, setting goals, being dynamic, adaptable and many more!

As we look forward to a new year in Junior Dragon, we share some tips to help your children achieve their goals and make the best of their time and experiences.

First, ensure that your child has set smart targets based on their chosen activity (preferably a school activity) and logged their targets in their Junior Dragon folder on Google Classroom.

Secondly, encourage your child to use their teachers and coaches. They could seek help with target setting, follow up on their progress regularly and ask for strategies to meet their targets from their teachers.

Next, passion is energy. Children should be passionate about the activities that they will choose for their Junior Dragon assessment. Having a positive attitude goes a long way.

Finally, BE THERE. No matter how tough the going might get, encourage your child to be present for their activities. To put in the hours and to put in the effort.
