27th October 2023
On the 11th of October, 28 of our amazing footballers set off on an unforgettable journey to sunny Spain, and boy, did they make us proud!
This adventure was long-awaited, as these kids had been putting in hours of sweat and grit in their football training for months. Our U17 boys and U15 girls, representing their school and the country, were ready to compete on top-notch fields and represent not only their school but also themselves with tremendous pride.
Our students were competing in the World School Games, where schools and football clubs from all over the world gather to showcase their football prowess. The level of competition was off the charts, and our teams held their heads high, giving their absolute best.
What was truly remarkable about this international event was the beautiful mix of cultures coming together. Our young athletes had the opportunity to interact with kids from various corners of the globe, delving into different cultures, sharing experiences, and forging friendships across borders. It was heartwarming to see these kids unite through the universal language of football.
The three days of intense matches pushed our athletes to their limits, but they persevered. The thrill of the game was palpable, and every goal, every save, was met with cheers and applause.
But the excitement didn't stop there! After the adrenaline-fueled matches, the kids were in for a well-deserved treat. They had the opportunity to explore the exciting PortAventura theme park and they had an absolute blast!
The team also had a chance to experience the cultural richness of Spain. A visit to Las Ramblas provided an opportunity to immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of this city, enjoy delicious Spanish cuisine, and shop to their heart's content. It was the perfect way to unwind and create lasting memories.
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the parents who supported this fantastic journey. Your encouragement and support made this adventure possible for these young athletes. And of course, let's not forget our amazing students, whose discipline, resilience, and sportsmanship were on full display.
Last but not least, we can't thank our coaches enough. Dickson Masudi, Coach Laizer, and Mrs. Wizilya played a crucial role in guiding our athletes to success.
Special thanks go out to the organisers of the World School Games for inviting us to this spectacular event. We're incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be part of this global football fiesta. Rest assured, we'll be back next year, bigger and better, to make our mark on the world stage once again.
