Our Year 3 students enjoyed an exciting educational field trip to the stunning Machame Rock Formations. The trip, designed to bring classroom lessons to life, gave students a hands-on experience with sedimentary rock formations, cave structures, and the wonders of nature.
The adventure started with a splash as students enjoyed playing in the waterfall. You could hear all the laughter and excitement filling the air as they cooled off in the refreshing water, making unforgettable memories!
Guided by their teachers and our helpful local guide, the students explored towering rock layers, discovering how sedimentary rocks are formed over millions of years. They were fascinated to see the effects of wind and water erosion, which have shaped the region’s unique caves and rock formations.
One of the highlights of the trip was a visit to a hidden cave, where students learned about how underground spaces develop through natural processes. Inside, they observed small animals like crabs and listened to echoes, sparking their curiosity about life in the stone age.
The trip was a perfect blend of education and fun, leaving students eager for their next outdoor learning adventure. What could that be, Year 3?
