10th May 2018
Our Early Years children have been working towards their production of 'Where The Wild Things Are', which is taking place on Saturday 26th May. A large amount of their work in class has centred around this much-loved book. Here's what FS2 got up to this week!
"This week, in FS2 we have been designing and making boats. We had a look at Max’s boat from 'Where the Wild Things Are' and thought about how we could make our boats, thinking about how we can make it float and also move quicker in the wind.
The children set about the task in pairs, discussing with each other what their boat would look like, then drawing their design on paper. The next step was to discuss what resources were needed, writing lists on their designs that included bottles, bottle tops, boxes, string, glue, tape.
Next they collected the resources they needed for their boats showing great teamwork in building their boats together whilst taking on roles independently. The children in FS2 were absolutely amazing. They had great fun making their boats and were able to show off their boats to Mrs Odhiambo in the afternoon!" - Mrs Brown
