Movember 2022

This year’s Movember event saw a range of styles for our Mo Bros and Mo Sistas here at Braeburn, from crazy moustaches, avatar air-bender arrows, to the classic Ronaldo 2002 world cup hairstyle - we had it all! Not only did we manage to raise double the amount that we did last year, we also managed to get almost 3 times the amount of people to participate; and even more who wanted to join in at the end.

This event was successful in all the ways we wanted it to be: we raised awareness about prostate and testicular cancer; shone light on the importance of mental health and suicide prevention; and also managed to raise money in a fun and memorable way. This will definitely be the talk of our students and staff over the break and this is exactly what we wanted - to get people talking! Next year we hope to get more of our Braeburn community involved, we are looking to host more activities during the month to get people moving and growing more to go towards this cause. Until then, our mental health committee will continue to highlight the importance of mental health and start more initiatives to get rid of the stigma that still exists.
