James Madison University defines environmental stewardship as: "...the responsibility for environmental quality shared by all those whose actions affect the environment. This sense of responsibility is a value that can be reflected through the choices of individuals, companies, communities, and government organizations, and shaped by unique environmental, social, and economic interests."
Here at BISA, caring for our beautiful environment and the surrounding areas is part of what makes us so special. Last week our Secondary environmental prefects led another small but important action to make a difference. Let's hear from them.
"As environmental prefects we orchestrated a KS3 litter pickup (involving Year 7 to 9) during lunchtime on Monday 9th November. It involved the students and some teachers walking around and cleaning up all the litter we found outside our school grounds. Seeing the younger students walk around in friend groups, willing to clean and care for our environment, definitely made the experience so much better than we had imagined. We hope to have more of these days soon!" - Victoria Letaru & Precious Milambo - Braeburn Environmental Prefects
