Our Emotions in FS1

2nd October 2020

This term in FS1, we have been learning about ourselves. We have talked about our different emotions and how they make us feel. In class we have talked about what makes us happy, sad, frightened and disgusted. Through stories we have been able to explore this further by looking at the faces of the characters in the story and discussing how they may be feeling.

We enjoyed a circle time where we were able to discuss our different emotions.

“I was sad when I went to the doctor because I didn’t want to go.” Ammar – aged 3

“I am happy when my mummy hugs me and kisses me.” Giovanna – aged 3

“I am excited because my mum gave me pipi.” Amara - aged 2

“My grandma makes me happy because she loves me soooooo much!” Benazir aged 4

“I was happy because I went to Maramboi and it has a pool with a shallow and deep end.” Gyaan aged 3

“Dinosaurs make me happy.” Junjun aged 3

“TV and Peppa pig makes me happy.” David aged 3

“I am happy with Amara.” Marina aged 3

In our role-play area the children opened up a Baby’s Clinic. Here they discussed how the babies were feeling and children used expressions to show concern when their babies were sick. Children acting as Doctors showed their patients care and attention.

Take a look at some of the pictures we have drawn in class showing different emotions!
