"New faces, new personalities all jumbled up in one confined space known as the Sixth Form BTEC room. It was awkwardly silent before Mrs. Griffiths introduced herself and it took only a matter of seconds before her enthusiasm caught us all off guard. Her positive and outgoing energy infected our faces with clone-like smiles. Induction was set to be a two day period of introduction to the school and its values, and in those two days we did some team-building activities, learned some leadership skills, and inevitably learned more about each other. This helped clear the awkward air, and people didn’t seem uptight anymore. We all got to know each other on the surface and it made the transition from KS4 to Sixth Form smoother for everyone and much more enjoyable.
I’m glad we had that short period of induction because I personally got to see and know that Braeburn has gained students with ambitions and a hunger to conquer their endeavors." - Clinton Mutuku
