Tuesday, May 27th, was a day for imagination and storytelling during the 'Big Write' Creative Writing challenge. Students were given inspiring prompts that encouraged them to weave tales around magical meals, cherished family dishes, or even recipes for friendship between different cultures. The culmination on Wednesday, May 28th, was truly special. Our classrooms became vibrant hubs of cultural exchange as students proudly shared food items from their home cultures. But even more wonderfully, we were thrilled to welcome parents who came in to cook and share authentic dishes from their cultures with the children. This direct, hands-on experience deepened the learning, allowing students to taste, smell, and understand the stories behind the food. The afternoon concluded with our lively Interhouse Quiz, where teams enthusiastically tested their knowledge of global cuisines, ingredients, and traditions. The energy was infectious, with parents joining in the fun and boosting the competitive spirit!
