Saturday School - BISA in the Community

14th June 2017

Every Saturday, children from the wider Kisongo area queue outside our Braeburn gates for Saturday school. We have a Primary and Secondary class.
In Secondary, we kick off with a lively English lesson, learning conversation skills, spelling skills and general knowledge. Often these classes are centered around issues which effect their every day life. We usually end up watching a documentary on something relevant which hopefully inspires these students to think and dream about empowering change in their communities.
The favourite part of Saturday school are the swimming lessons. Some students have been attending Saturday school for 3 or 4 years and have become very able swimmers!
After swimming classes, the students troop down to the Science Laboratory, where Ms Ngave gives them a science lesson.
