Braeburn International School recently celebrated World Book Day with a wide range of activities that encouraged students to appreciate the power of literature in society on Friday 3rd March. The day was marked by an exciting lineup of events that catered to both primary and secondary students.
The Secondary School students took a trip back in time to the Jane Austen era from 1750-1850. They dressed up in costumes inspired by the period and participated in activities that were centred around Jane Austen's literature. The students engaged in this theme by watching one of her most influential novels in play form, ‘Pride and Prejudice.’
Meanwhile, in the Primary School, the children had the freedom to choose any novel to celebrate the day. The children were excited to share their favorite books and discuss why they loved them.
Throughout the day, the school saw a high level of enthusiasm and engagement from all the students. The joy of reading was palpable as students participated in various book-related activities, which was a testament to the power of literature in inspiring young minds.
The celebration was made possible through the combined efforts of the teaching staff and the parents who supported the students by providing costumes and helping them choose their books. The success of the event was also a testament to the commitment of the school to instill a love for reading and literature in their students.
