The majority of Year 13 students spent an exciting week north of Nairobi at Sagana (Savage Wilderness) and had an amazing time. The camp is situated along the beautiful Sagana River, which was the focal point of our trip. Throughout the week, it became clear that the students had a range of experience and confidence on the water, it was great to see them support each other. During the various water sports activities, the students showed real commitment to encourage each other to step out of their comfort zones. It was evident that the year group had formed really close friendships over their years at Braeburn.
The water sports activities included paddleboarding, kayaking, duckies, and culminated with white water rafting, on the last afternoon. On the first morning at Sagana, the students showed both teamwork and healthy competition as they tackled the rock climbing wall. Notably, Joss and Oswa stood out during the time trials.
The trip concluded on a high as four students, along with Mr. Magambo, conquered their fears by bungee jumping over the Sagana River, with the rest of the students cheering them from the rope bridge. This trip marked a fantastic send-off for the Year 13 students as they return for their final months at Braeburn.
