"Stride Ahead": Reading and Mentorship

29th September 2023

In the heart of our school, the spirit of community and learning thrives anew as we reintroduce "Stride Ahead," a captivating reading program that beckons students of all ages to come together, learn, and grow as one family.

"Stride Ahead" isn't just about words on paper; it's a powerful embodiment of mentorship, friendship, and the joy of giving back. This heartwarming program invites our older students to dedicate their precious mornings, from Tuesday to Thursday, to a worthy cause - nurturing the reading skills of their younger peers.

At its core, "Stride Ahead" is designed to foster a nurturing environment where the wisdom of age meets the curiosity of youth. The older students transform into mentors, and the younger ones become eager learners, benefitting from personalised attention and care.

But this program goes beyond just reading; it's a bridge that connects generations. By pairing our older students with their younger counterparts, we aim to instil a profound sense of responsibility and leadership among the seniors. They become torchbearers, guiding their younger companions on the path of knowledge and discovery.

Through "Stride Ahead," mentorship blooms as our students experience the joy of not just receiving but also giving knowledge. Through shared stories, whispered words of encouragement, and the gentle turning of pages, bonds are built that go beyond age and year group.

We're not just nurturing the development of young minds; we're sowing the seeds of compassion, friendship, and the love for learning. "Stride Ahead" is more than just a reading program; it's a demonstration of the strength of our Braeburn family.
