Tanzania Open Nationals 2023: BISA Swimmers Shine Bright!

The stage was set, the waters were pristine, and our remarkable Braeburn swimmers were ready to make waves at the Tanzania Open Nationals 2023!

12 swimmers from Years 5 through 13 took to the pool with determination and a collective spirit that would make the BISA community proud.

The competition was nothing short of fierce, with teams converging from all corners of the country, with each swimmer chasing their dream of earning a coveted spot on the international team.

Our BISA swimmers gave their absolute best, showing excellent sportsmanship and resilience. They smashed their personal bests, demonstrated unwavering determination when the going got tough and forged lasting friendships with fellow swimmers from different teams.

In the spotlight, Year 6's Lucia Colombo shone brightly, clinching a well-deserved bronze medal in the 9-10 100m backstroke. Her dedication and tenacity were on full display, inspiring everyone around her.

Year 13's Ophélie König also delivered a breathtaking performance. Ophélie showcased her prowess by securing an impressive bronze in the 100m backstroke, two silvers in the 100m Individual Medley (IM) and 50m breaststroke, and the crowning jewel—a gold in the 100m breaststroke!

A resounding round of applause and congratulations are in order for the entire team, including Lucia, Annabelle, Brianna, Tom, Harper, Louisa, Elsie, Baylor, Lara, Tobiko, Martinos, and the star of the day, Ophélie!

Thanks to Mr Mosi, Mrs König, Mrs Wizilya Dacar-Lembeli and Mrs Baker for all their hard work in getting the team there!
