The First Ever BISA Dinky Safari Rally

13th June 2017

On Thursday 8th June 2017, Braeburn Primary’s first ever Dinky Safari Rally took place.  Mr. Gerard Miller, a professional rally driver and Dad to Liam in 5J, came in to talk to the children in KS2 and was able to officially start the main event.

Mr Miller was very humble about his achievements when racing, but amazed all the children with pictures of the many cool cars he has had made for him to race and stories about his many wins.

He has been lucky to follow a lifelong dream of becoming a rally driver.  His most memorable race was driving from Paris to Dakar!  He left us with some sound advice, telling us to be ‘careful’ but fast drivers.  Some of the children listened, whilst others clearly didn’t.

The day was enjoyed by all children from FS2 up to Year 6.  We are all certainly looking forward to this event next year!
