The Launch of NASA’s SPACEX Crew-2

Last Friday, all of us in Year 5 were fortunate enough to watch live, NASA’s SPACEX Crew-2 being

launched up to the International Space Station (ISS). We logged on to the live stream on NASA’s website,

of the astronauts getting into the spacecraft and settling in for their final checks and tests before lift off.

We then had a long wait until lunchtime for the big lift off. With only 5 minutes to go, we all returned to

class to take our seats in anticipation of this exciting event.

We were all so excited as we joined in with the final countdown from 10 – 0. With much jubilation, the

SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket propelled the Crew Dragon spacecraft into orbit.

It was amazing to see the view of Earth for the first time as the spacecraft rose higher. What a fantastic

opportunity we had to watch this event in real time, we certainly all felt very fortunate.I
