Last week, Braeburn International School Arusha (BISA) experienced an exciting three-day event, the Key Stage 2 Enrichment Days, filled with boundless excitement, immersive experiences, and unleashed creativity. From Monday, May 29th, to Wednesday, May 31st, our BISA students embarked on a remarkable journey through Tanzanian art and culture. Let's delve into this unforgettable event.
The Enrichment Days kicked off with a burst of enthusiasm as our Year 3, Year 4, Year 5, and Year 6 students embarked on multiple adventures within Arusha. Year 3 and 4 students visited the beautiful Sanaa Workshop, where they met many skilled crafters and learned about how Sanaa supports differently abled people in Arusha to build creative skills. Meanwhile, Year 5 students visited the ViaVia Cultural Cafe, immersing themselves in an artists workshop with their talented resident artists. Meanwhile, Year 6 students were transported back in time at the Cultural Heritage Museum, where they discovered the rich history and cultural heritage of Africa. All students returned to BISA in time for lunch, filled with stories and memories to share.
Tuesday was an awe-inspiring day that focused on unleashing our students' creativity. In the morning, all BISA students participated in artist workshops, exploring various art forms and letting their imaginations run wild. The classrooms of BISA buzzed with colours, brushstrokes, and creative expressions as students brought their visions to life. In the afternoon, they set off on a musical journey, diving into three captivating music workshops. From rhythmic African drumming to moving their body to the beat of African dancing, the students enjoyed exploring the power of music.
Wednesday marked the grand finale of the Key Stage 2 Enrichment Days. The morning was dedicated to students' preparation for a special celebration of art. They transformed the amphitheatre into their own mini-Cultural Heritage Gallery, displaying their projects and adding the final touches to their masterpieces. In the afternoon, BISA opened its doors to parents to witness the incredible results of their children's hard work, meet some of the talented artists who had collaborated with BISA, and even purchase unique artwork for themselves. The atmosphere was filled with pride, joy, and a deep appreciation for the artistic journeys undertaken during these enriching days.
The Key Stage 2 Enrichment Days at BISA were an absolute success, leaving lasting impressions on our students, teachers, parents, and the entire school community. Through exploration, creativity, and collaboration, our BISA students discovered their passions, honed their skills, and celebrated the beauty of Tanzanian art and culture. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the artists who worked with us over these days, as well as to all the students, teachers, and parents who made this event possible. The memories created during these enriching days will continue to inspire and uplift our BISA family for years to come.
