‘Where there is a woman, there is magic.’
Magic that elevates our community in more ways than one and leaves a trail of opportunity…. Business opportunities.
In the spirit of Women's History Month, our school came together on March 15th to host a remarkable event, a women in business fair. As each student stepped onto the lower field, they became surrounded by the fine products and services produced by the hard-working women in our community, the epitome of resilience.
From beautiful jewellery, delicious food, exquisite handmade crafts and of course accompanying flora and fauna such as plants, the fair showcased the incredible talent and entrepreneurial spirit of women in our community.
As the fair began, our school turned into a lively marketplace, buzzing with energy and excitement for a plethora of products. Our fair included over twenty different vendors and a variety of baked goods, skin care products and more. The joyful chatter of students was welcomed by the irresistible scents of body lotions.
By inviting female-led businesses from the Arusha community, students had the opportunity to recognize and appreciate the hurdles women in the business world overcome on a daily basis. The magic that was displayed at the Women In Business Fair was the result of women who dedicate their time, creativity and energy into producing the very goods and services we find at our doorstep.
At BISA, students are taught about the importance of perseverance in the classroom and at the Women in Business fair, the essence of perseverance through the variety of female vendors. As students visit each stall, curious as to what goods and mementos they carry home, they return home with an instilled spirit of perseverance from the hard-working ladies at our Women In Business fair.
Through the women in business fair, we recognized the female-led businesses in our community that make it easier for the sisterhood of women across the world to break through new barriers. When societies support women, incredible things happen. Here's to the women who inspire us, the businesses they build, and the endless possibilities that lie ahead.
